Brokering activities to select construction companies on a world-wide basis:

Construction companies were selected and interviewed world-wide for a construction portfolio of over 5BUS$ managed by an international group of interest. Sunset Highlands Development, West Vancouver, BC, Canada:

A comprehensive risk management program was undertaken in order to provide sound and reasonable solutions to the problems posed by the development of a property located at the foot of Black Mountain along the eastern shore of Howe Sound. Dr. Wayne Savigny, who reviewed the report as an independent Professional Engineer of B.C., noted that, "..the report provides a comprehensive assessment of rockfall source areas, triggering mechanisms, transport paths and depositional zones... the analysis is more sophisticated than any locally available... the proposed mitigative methods are innovative and represent an environmentally friendly approach to risk management."

Monthey Underground Parking, Monthey, Switzerland:

Provided turnkey design and construction services to the Community of Monthey, Switzerland for a five level underground parking. The project was located in the immediate vicinity of two historical buildings (a 15th century chapel and castle) in a dejection cone of an alpine river. Retaining structures of up to 20m deep were foreseen. Innovative designs were implemented in order to cope with difficult geotechnical conditions, as well as rigid noise/vibration limitations.

Chauderon Building and Underground Parking, Lausanne, Switzerland:

Turnkey design and construction services for a 7-level underground parking complex built in a densely urbanized downtown area of Lausanne, Switzerland. The site is part of a quarry, which was last used over a century ago. As a result, the first 10 meters to be excavated were composed of low quality fills, or crushed rock residues. Deeper sedimentary rocks of various alteration levels were found down to the maximum depth of excavation of 30 meters. At the perimeter of the excavation, several buildings with irregular and questionable foundation systems had to be underpinned. Innovative design allowed integration of the underpinning with the foreseen retaining structures.

Anchors and micropiles constitute the core technology of such urban development deep excavations.
